This is the reissue of Thierry Martin's first album. Originally published in 2005 as "Vincent, Mon Frere Mort-Vivant", it has been long out of print.
It is a beautiful and moving story about a little boy and his big brother who happens to be dead. The lovely, expressive artwork is both somber and humorous, and reminiscent of Bill Watterson. With 12 pages of sketches.
From the publisher:
Antoine is ten and his brother is dead. His name was Vincent. In class, Antoine talks about his brother coming back from the dead, but despite his friends' mockery, after school Antoine goes to meet Vincent in the cemetery and they join the crazy world of the dead! However, one night everything changes. Vincent has disappeared and Antoine finds himself prisoner in the kingdom of the dead. Will he find Vincent? And will he be able to make it back among the living?
