Bidou est un petit chien solitaire vivant dans un terrain vague plutôt tranquille. Dormant sur le toit d'une voiture abandonnée, il profite pleinement de sa liberté pour vagabonder dans le voisinage et mener ses petites affaires. Mais un beau matin, sa vie sereine bascule brutalement par l'apparition d'un énorme bouledogue qui le chasse de son territoire ! Après quelques jours d'errance à travers les rues, Bidou est recueilli et placé dans un refuge où il fera la connaissance de nombreux amis. Bien décidé à retrouver sa liberté, Bidou et deux de ses complices parviennent à s'enfuir. Mais après avoir goûté à la vie en communauté, Bidou n'imaginait pas que le retour à la solitude serait si difficile à surmonter.
