Description

From the publisher:

An ambitious project!

CODEX Obscurus is a collective artbook featuring the work of 145 artists from around the world. Their artwork depicts a range of material, including folkloric themes from the artists' home countries or their own interpretations of the occult.

In order to carry out this project, Spiridon Giannakis gathered a jury of international artists, who selected the works published in CODEX. This jury was composed of Iris COMPIET, Bastien LECOUFFE DEHARME, Justine FLORENTINO, Abigail LARSON (author of Crimson), Yangtian LI, Angi Pauly LLOBET, Yoann LOSSEL, Thabiso MHLABA, Karla ORTIZ, Armand SERRANO and Pauline VOSS.

An exceptional book!

Spirigon Giannakis, who initiated the project, really wanted the book to be as beautiful as can be.

Therefore, the cover, as well as the interior and the finishing touches, make CODEX Obscurus a unique book. For this purpose, he called on Viktor Pushkarev who created the entire CODEX universe: from the typography and cover design to the handmade prints (linocut and gold leaf). The imitation leather cover is embellished with hot stamping, beautiful embossing and subtle gilding.

The right-hand pages are reserved for the illustrations, and the left-hand pages for the descriptions or other texts that accompany them. In this way, each work of art has its own space to breathe and leave an even deeper impression on the reader.
