Achille, un jerrican à la main, déambule dans un dédale de couloirs dans un bâtiment immense, étrange... Enfin, il trouve une ouverture. Ébloui par le soleil, il se dirige vers une Ford Mustang blanche. À côté, une belle femme brune l'attend. Ils vont pouvoir repartir. La femme lui demande de reprendre le cours de ses souvenirs alors qu'ils roulent dans un paysage désertique. Se souvient-il de ce qu'il lui est arrivé avant de se retrouver ici, avec elle ? Achille a mal à la nuque et voit un étang gelé dans la brume, une Porsche 911 jaune en plein milieu, à moitié immergée. Un homme semble être à l'intérieur... Mais ça ne peut être lui, il n'a jamais eu de Porsche... Et puis qu'est-ce qu'il fait là, dans cette voiture, avec elle, alors qu'il ne l'a jamais vue et ne connaît même pas son nom ? Alors, elle lui révèle la vérité : il est au « paradis » (plutôt le purgatoire, ou la purge) des pilotes, et elle est son ange gardien. Pour en sortir, il va falloir comprendre comment il est mort pour trouver la paix.
