A very sharp copy of the only major monograph on this Saturday Evening Post illustrator and Western painter. Written by illustration expert and founder of Illustration House, Walt Reed.
Harold von Schmidt (1893-1982) studied at the Grand Central School of Art in New York City. His work appeared primarily in Collier's Weekly, Cosmopolitan, Liberty, The Saturday Evening Post, and Sunset. He preferred magazine work and illustrated few books. In 1948, he was recruited by Albert Dorne to be one of the founding faculty of the Famous Artists School.
