This was the scarcest of the three 1979-80 Fireside/Simon & Schuster DC Comics genre collections (Heart Throbs: The Best of DC Romance Comics, America at War: The Best of DC War Comics and Mysteries in Space: The Best of DC Science Fiction Comics.).

Published simultaneously in a trade paperback edition, this hardcover edition was produced in much lower numbers, primarily for the library market, and is quite scarce.
