N.C. Wyeth is undeniably one of the best painters of the Golden Age of Illustration and beloved for his book illustrations for Robin Hood, Treasure Island, The Last of the Mohicans, Robinson Crusoe, Kidnapped, and others.

However there are only few art books for him, the two primary books being Douglas Allen’s N.C. Wyeth: The Collected Paintings, Illustrations and Murals (1972) and N.C. Wyeth by Kate Jennings (Knickerbocker Press, 1999) with 84 color and 10 black & white illustrations.

Beyond that are four books which he shares billing and space with other artists: An American Vision: Three Generations of Wyeth Art : N.C. Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth, James Wyeth (1987); Wondrous Strange: The Wyeth Tradition (1998) which had 30 paintings by N.C.; One Nation: Patriots and Pirates Portrayed by N.C. Wyeth and James Wyeth (2000) with 41 paintings by N.C.; and Visions of Adventure: N.C. Wyeth and the Brandywine Artists (2000) with 128 pages covering six artists.

David Michaelis’ N.C. Wyeth: A Biography (1998) only had 32 color illustrations. The Wyeths: The Letters of N. C. Wyeth 1901-1945 (1971), while full of information, had only 8 color illustrations.

So when N.C. Wyeth Catalogue Raisonne of Paintings was published by Scala Publishers in 2008, a two volume set of beautiful full color hardcovers featuring over 2,000 color illustrations, describing and illustrating in color all 1,922 known paintings by Wyeth, it sold out within the year despite a price $400.

It sold out even before many fans learned of its publication and it has been an expensive collectible since then.

So we are very pleased to have discovered a supply of Brand New Shrinkwrapped copies and we are taking orders now.

This is a comprehensive catalogue of N.C. Wyeth's paintings. It is divided into types of paintings--illustrations, murals and architectural decoration, advertising images, landscapes, still lifes, and personal works--with the works listed chronologically within each group.

It also has a 57-page biography of N. C. Wyeth and a 17-page description of the artist's methods and materials.

A detailed entry for each painting includes a reproduction of the work, a physical description, exhibition history, provenance (the history of ownership), and other information of particular interest to scholars, collectors, and admirers of Wyeth's work.

The 2,000+ color illustrations are distributed across 920 pages (456 pages in volume 1, 464 pages in volume 2). Each page is 11 x 12.5 inches. Some 140 paintings are given a full page, about the same number of pages have two paintings, but most pages contain 3-4 illustrations or more.
