Description

An incredible exploration of the black & white comics work of Hugo Pratt. Over 400 pages of illustrations, with numerous, numerous examples from Pratt's original artwork.

Plus an introductory essay (7 pages in English) and an invaluable "Summary of the Comic Series and Stories" (16 pages in English) that provides story synopses for all 61 of Pratt's published stories.

From the publisher:

After Périples Imaginaires and Périples Secrets, a third trip through the works of the Italian master. This time, his black and white comics.

Périples Imaginaires (Imaginary Travels) explored the watercolor work of Hugo Pratt in 2005 to mark the tenth anniversary of his death, then Périples Secrets (Secret Travels) echoed the large Pratt exhibition in Cherbourg in 2009 and focused on his drawing (ink, charcoal, gouache), here is the third part of the course in the work of the maestro, entitled Periples Eblouis (Dazzling Travels).

Edited with great care, like the previous volumes, this extensive (300 pages), large and beautiful collection focuses on exclusively on Pratt's comics in black and white. It is organized by theme, and sixty distinct themes are each illustrated by extracts from albums, including every one of Pratt's comics (Corto, Ernie Pike, Fort Wheeling, etc..), including some unpublished or little-known sides of its creation, as his pre-60s "Argentine period" and his final unfinished projects.
