Having honed his figure-drawing skills on erotic comics, Nicola Mari graduated to become one of Sergio Bonelli's top artists. His work on the Nathan Never series demonstrated his talents for massing black and white, composing panels, and drawing beautiful women.

The first half of this scarce monograph (in English, Profiles: Nicola Mari, Gothic Artist) presents an introduction to Mari's career and a long interview conducted by Bepi Vigna. The latter half of the book is a portfolio of paintings, sketches, covers, panel art and personal work, all reproduced in color. Includes a checklist of Mari's comics work by Antonio Vianovi.
