About the artist:

John Watkiss was an accomplished illustrator with an extensive artistic career that took him from the field of advertising to the world of film and graphic novels.

In his movie related career, he created visual development art for Disney's Tarzan, Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Fantasia 2000, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Twentieth Century Fox, Dreamworks, Francis Ford Coppola and Ridley Scott Associates.

Watkiss also created covers and interiors for DC, Marvel and UK publishers on titles like Batman, Conan, Deadman and Sandman.
