Working under the pseudonym Foolbert Sturgeon, cartoonist Frank Stack published what many consider the first underground comic, The Adventures of Jesus (1962). This anthology collects his Jesus stories from 1969-1972, including "Jesus Goes to the Movies," "Jesus Joins the Academic Community," and "Jesus, Savior of the World."
