This out-of-print deluxe slipcased hardcover edition has a large 8.25 x 12.25 page format AND an additional 128 pages not included in the trade edition. The additional pages reproduce Stevens' story notes, sketches, character designs, page layouts, other preliminary art, and fine photographic reproductions of selected finished pages (the better to appreciate Stevens' artwork).

This first edition caught many comic book dealers (and fans) by surprise and sold out immediately. It was reprinted with a variant, predominently black, slipcase.
