Description

"This is the quintessential tribute to Tom and Jerry. A total of 161 episodes were filmed from 1940 to 1967, under four different directors. This comprehensive book summarizes each and every one of those episodes, including notes on musical scores, directors, producers, and more. With 70 never-before-published drawings and 600 color illustrations, it is the definitive guide."

A deluxe coffee table book on William Hanna & Joe Barbera's Academy Award-winning MGM series. Detailed filmography for all 161 shorts with credits, synopses, and illustrations. Facsimiles of 18 layout & animation drawings. Two double foldouts.

This came from the library of Burny Mattinson (1935-2023), an animator, director, producer, and story artist for Walt Disney Animation Studios, from 1953 until his death in 2023. Mattinson directed Mickey's Christmas Carol and The Great Mouse Detective. He was named a Disney Legend in 2008 and was the longest serving employee of The Walt Disney Company, with a career that spanned almost 70 years. His extensive library included numerous subjects and especially large collections of books on Disney, animation, and classic comic strips.
