A limited hardcover printing of nine classic REH Conan pulp stories.
Robert E. Howard"s writing has often been referred to as purple prose because of his vivid and colorful descriptions, but a better summary would have been "Red-blooded.” His narrative pacing was always pulse-pounding as his iconic creation of Conan the Cimmerian faced every sort of adversary imaginable--from both the physical and the supernatural worlds.
The genre of Sword-and-Sorcery was something Howard had experimented with during his earlier creations of Solomon Kane, Kull of Atlantis, and Bran Mak Morn. With Conan, the genre of a savage man versus unnatural evil came to full fruition. His style has often been imitated over the near-century that followed, but never equaled. Nothing else has come close to the elemental fury of the master storyteller"s seemingly boundless imagination.
