Description

Original movie tie-in dust jacket for the film The Thing From Another World from 1951. This accompanied a quite scarce second printing from Shasta Publishers from 1951. The first printing had a completely different dust jacket design and didn't reference the movie. Great artwork and a blurb for the film on the front panel.

A pristine unfolded dustjacket from the archive of Shasta Publishers. A beautiful example of mid-century design and printing.

A second printing dustjacket for Who Goes There? The $3.00 price is intact.

Whether you want this dustjacket to fold around your copy of Who Goes There?, or keep flat and display as an art print, unfolded dustjackets are rarer than uncut trading card sheets.

Shasta Publishers was a science fiction and fantasy small press specialty publishing house founded in 1947 by Erle Melvin Korshak, T. E. Dikty, and Mark Reinsberg, who were all science fiction fans from the Chicago area.

They produced 19 volumes under the Shasta imprint (including authors Robert A. Heinlein, L. Ron Hubbard, Fredric Brown, Alfred Bester, and A. E. van Vogt) before ceasing publishing in 1957.

According to Robert Weinberg, "Using an involved, multicolor printing process, Shasta featured some of the finest color jackets ever done in the small press field."
