Passi, Messa! is Joost Swarte's "reflections on human life on our planet. A guide for a well organized life."
Beautiful clear line illustrations by Swarte. 30 paired black & white panel cartoons and 30 smaller paired wordless black & white panel cartoons.
From the publisher:
Beginning in 1982, Joost Swarte conceived an astonishing narrative device made up of two juxtaposed gags, the first, the "Passi", exposing a problem, something not to be done, the second, the "Messa", responds with an answer, a solution, an escape route.
Two coupled gags, therefore, which answer, echo, mirror, the game can be endless. First published in the Dutch weekly Vrij Nederland, "Passi, Messa!" would become four small books published by Futuropolis from 1985 to 1989.
